About Rosemont

The Historic Rosemont Manor House in Clarke County, Virginia

Historic Rosemont Manor

Welcome to Historic Rosemont Manor, a respite for U.S. Presidents and celebrities; a private get-away for the Washington DC elite, comparable to Mount Vernon and Monticello in many aspects and only a 40-minute drive from Washington-Dulles Airport in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, in historic Berryville Virginia.

An elegant bed and breakfast property on a 60-acre park-like setting, Rosemont is the previous estate of the late Virginia Governor and U.S. Senator Harry Flood Byrd, Sr.  The historic manor boasts twelve well-appointed suites and guest rooms with magnificent views, private bathrooms (with original claw foot tubs, soaking tubs or showers), in-room telephone systems, iHome iPod stations in the suites, and wireless internet access. Experience the grandeur and true Southern hospitality as did Presidents Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon.

And the breakfasts…it’s a good thing that breathing all of the fresh country air gives you an appetite, because our full breakfasts are hearty and indulgent.  We don’t count calories here at Historic Rosemont Manor, but if you do, we can tailor our selections to fit your dietary needs!

Looking for a spectacular place to host your special event?  We can’t think of a better venue. We treat you as a unique individual with a unique style, and everything we do is geared towards that end.  From the lush lawns with a choice of ceremony locations (including the very spot where JFK arrived in his presidential helicopter) to the Grand Portico with its columned facade, to the rustic elegance of the Carriage House, we can offer you endless possibilities to design your own event.   We work with you throughout the process to ensure that the result of our combined efforts is an event that you will remember for a lifetime.

If you’re looking to explore the countryside, we can pack you a picnic lunch and you can hike nearby Snicker’s Gap, where you’ll be rewarded with a bird’s eye view of the entire Shenandoah Valley.  Or explore the quaint towns of Berryville and Winchester, with their eclectic shopping and varied dining options.  Feeling lazy?  Then settle yourself on the Rosemont’s Grand Portico for a well deserved afternoon of rest and relaxation.  Whatever your pleasure, we know you’ll leave Rosemont feeling refreshed in mind, body and soul.

We would like to personally invite you to visit Rosemont and experience our elegant estate and extraordinary service in an idyllic setting reminiscent of a time when life moved more slowly and was appreciated just a little more.   Give us a call to arrange your visit to Historic Rosemont Manor…  you’ll be glad you did!
