Planning a micro wedding doesn’t mean downsizing on the details. You can spoil your guests with an upscale event, even if only 30 of your closest family and friends are in attendance. Serve gourmet cuisine, send elaborate wedding invitations, or wow your guests with extravagant welcome baskets.

Something to remember, a small wedding can be as costly and detailed as one with a larger guest count. Add just a couple of upgrades if you’re working with a smaller budget. If you have a little more wiggle room, consider going all out to make your guests feel like VIPs.

We’ve put together some of our favorite ways to upgrade your micro wedding. Have fun creating a custom event that speaks to your style and vision.

Send Elaborate Wedding Invitations

If you want to level up your invitations for your micro wedding, the best place to start is the paper on which it’s printed. We recommend investing in thick card stock that matches your wedding colors. Wax seals are also a great option to add a luxurious and classic touch to your invites. Go for wax in a metallic or pearlescent finish stamped with a heart or floral design, or your initials. Before you seal your envelopes, spritz your invitation with your favorite perfume for a romantic and memorable touch.

Host a Destination Micro Wedding

Whether it is near or far, host your guests at a location where everyone can stay on site and be together for the whole weekend. Live in a crowded city and want to escape to the peace and quiet of a small town? Rosemont Manor’s destination venue is the perfect location to relax in a tranquil atmosphere and enjoy the company of your family and friends. Step out on the Grand Portico with your morning coffee before the day’s festivities begin, or share stories by the fire pit as the reception winds down. The next day, enjoy a delicious country breakfast together before departing for home.

Over the Top Welcome Gifts

Along with essentials like a town map, itinerary and a mini first-aid kit, include gifts your out-of-town guests will want to take with them when they leave. Luxurious hand lotions and soaps create an indulgent experience for your guests. Also consider adding fare from a local market, including olives, preserves, cookies and flavored olive oils. A mini bottle of champagne is also an elevated touch. When packaging everything together, opt for a high quality basket or luxe gift box. While a simple touch, including a hand-written thank you note also goes a long way to make guests feel appreciated.

Upgrade Your Menu

A smaller guest list allows for menu upgrades without breaking your budget. Add extra cocktail hour appetizers, like a French Salmon tartare, caviar-topped canapés, mini caprese salads or even oysters for an upscale feel. If you want to make the whole meal a lavish experience, opt for fancier main course options including filet mignon, lobster and rack of lamb. You can also create a full culinary experience by pairing different wines with each course. It’s a delicious was to upgrade your micro wedding.

Fancy Wedding Bar

Serve signature cocktails from a custom wedding bar. At the Rosemont Springs barn, our live edge bar adds a gorgeous, rustic touch to your décor. The bar was created from a walnut tree that once stood on the property. The slab has a live curvature on each side, which matches the original contour of the tree. Supporting the bar are two authentic whiskey barrels that add to the rustic feel.

You can also opt to take the party outside with a mobile bar for an added surprise for your guests. This bar on wheels brings the party to wherever you are.

Wow with Fireworks

When it’s time to cut your wedding cake, lead guests outdoors for the event. As you and your partner begin to cut your first slice of cake, arrange to have fireworks go off in the background. This is a surprise we guarantee your guests will not forget. Coordinate with your planner and fireworks vendor to get the timing just right. You can opt for just a couple of minutes, or go for a 10+ minute display depending on your budget. Make sure your venue is an authorized fireworks location before reaching out to a fireworks vendor. At Rosemont Manor, the East Lawn offers a safe space to set off fireworks.
